This Returns and No Refund Policy applies to all payments made to Hire Local for employer services, including job postings, featured listings, subscriptions, promotional upgrades, and related digital services.
No Returns
Because Hire Local provides digital advertising and listing services, there are no physical products to return. All purchases made through the platform are for digital services only and are therefore non-returnable. Guidance for digital-product policies recommends clearly stating that digital services cannot be returned in the same way as physical goods.
No Refunds
All payments made to Hire Local are final. Employers will not receive refunds, partial refunds, credits, or charge reversals for:
- job posting purchases,
- featured listing purchases,
- subscription fees,
- promotional upgrades,
- unused listing time,
- unused subscription periods,
- lack of applications,
- hiring outcomes,
- employer changes of mind,
- or removal of a listing by the employer after purchase.
Subscriptions
If an employer purchases a recurring subscription, the subscription may be canceled at any time before the next billing date to avoid future charges. However, cancellation does not entitle the employer to a refund for the current billing period or any prior payments already made. No-refund guidance for subscriptions commonly states that cancellation stops future billing but does not create a right to a refund for the active or prior term.
Job Posting Fees
Once a job post, featured listing, or related paid service has been purchased, that payment is non-refundable, including if:
- the employer decides to close the role early,
- the employer fills the position quickly,
- the employer edits or removes the job post,
- the listing receives fewer applicants than expected,
- or the employer no longer wishes to use the service.
Limited Exceptions
Hire Local may, in its sole discretion, review refund requests in limited situations such as:
- duplicate payments,
- billing errors,
- or a technical failure that prevented a paid listing from being published at all. Limited-exception language is common in no-refund policies for digital services, particularly for duplicate charges and platform errors.
Any exception, if granted, will be handled at Hire Local’s sole discretion and does not create an obligation to provide refunds in future cases.
Chargebacks
If an employer initiates a chargeback or payment dispute for a valid charge, Hire Local reserves the right to suspend or terminate the employer’s account, remove active listings, and recover any unpaid amounts to the extent permitted by law.
Agreement to Policy
By purchasing any paid employer service through Hire Local, the employer acknowledges and agrees to this Returns and No Refund Policy.
